MyBB vs phpBB in 2026 — follow-up

Make sure you take both a files and a database backup before upgrading.

The upgrade script is reliable but a backup costs you nothing.

Code: PHP

define('IN_MYBB', 1);

— always check for this guard in your own plugin files.

I switched the cache store to Redis and the ACP feels snappier now.

Maybe this has been discussed before, but I could not find anything recent.
