Never let WordPress send mail natively on a VPS — use SMTP or a transactional service.

Every build of mine starts with the same six plugins and grows from there.

Any tips, experiences or strong opinions welcome.

I did a bit of searching but could not find a recent thread on this, so here we go.

My baseline list is almost identical to yours.

Nice thread, following for the replies.

Bumping this because I ran into the same thing today.

SMTP with a transactional service fixed all my contact-form complaints.

Cloudflare plus a light cache plugin is enough for most small sites.

Page builders still have their place for landing pages, just not whole sites.
